Signing 200+ Books & Photoshoot

I love sharing my life with you vlog-style. If you’ve been around for a while, you know that a lot of my videos are very value-focused, giving you an actionable strategy to take away and implement immediately. Other times, I like to show you how I spend my time and to show you the behind-the-scenes of Vlog Boss Studios.

Today is a behind-the-scenes day.

I spend a lot of time interacting with Socials, the nickname I’ve given my community (i.e. YOU!). Sometimes that looks like the two of us having a conversation on Twitter and sometimes it looks like having videos calls. I love talking to Socials because they are my people – the ones I’m making video for and the ones who get the most value from implementing the strategies.

Have you noticed online videos taking over?

After taking a few client calls, I am reminded (once again!) that online videos are taking over. Video is going to the vast majority of the content that you’re going to be seeing.

What does that mean?

The bar is higher than ever before to create something great. At the same time, every platform has its own context. It’s own cadence. YouTube is still the land of valuable information presented at an amateur level. Yes, there are very high-level creators, but there is a balance.

If you’re just getting started and you’re only watching the elite creators, it can be paralyzing to begin. It’s easy to think that you have to have the best equipment and the perfect setup and that the lighting must make you look 10 years younger. You worry that your on-screen skills might not be as polished as someone who’s been doing this for years and years.

Stop worrying.

It’s about showing up.

It’s about publishing the video when you say you are going to publish video.

It’s about getting better with every single video.

It’s not going to be perfect every time, and that’s ok. YouTube is filled with the most amazing amount of imperfection! Ever.

Perfection isn’t real. It’s taking the coffee meetings, making an investment in photo shoots, doing the heavy lifting, signing 200+ books, and all of the little stuff that goes it this life.

Keep doing the work, and go after the life you want!
