And the award goes to…
Are we doing what we do for recognition? For the award that eventually collects dust but states our name and accomplishments?
What makes you better than the other people in your niche? Your category? Why should you get recognized over them? Isn’t it just good enough to be nominated? Is it just interpretation?
Who’s satisfaction do we really need? Family. Clients. Fans. Peers. People. Why are we living our lives for everyone else? It’s only ours to live. What exactly are we trying to prove?
Whether you do what you love, or love what you do, as long as you knock it out of the park to the best of your abilities then haven’t you won? I think I have. My achievements are set and accomplished by me and only me. My reputation is not dependent on recognition or awards. It’s hard work and referrals that make life really good.
So the award goes to everyone. Everyone who stands up for themselves. Everyone who gets to do what they love everyday. Everyone who takes ownership for the work that the start. The take home award is that you get to be really damn proud of yourself. And that’s all you really need to continue to kick ass.
